Jeffrey J. Mitchell
Vice Chairman, Hillsborough Township Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners
Jeffrey J. Mitchell has been an integral part of the Hillsborough Township Fire District since 2017 and currently serves as Vice Chairman. With a deep commitment to public safety and fiscal stewardship, Jeffrey oversees the overall administration and financial management of the district, ensuring that fire prevention and suppression services meet the needs of Hillsborough residents.
Prior to his tenure on the Board, Jeffrey served as a dedicated volunteer firefighter with Flagtown Station #36 and in the United States Air Force. His administrative responsibilities include developing annual budgets, managing district property and apparatus, overseeing hiring and promotions, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Jeffrey’s leadership is rooted in a strong desire to serve his community by maintaining efficient, effective fire services that protect the lives and property of Hillsborough citizens. His experience and dedication help foster a safer community for all residents
Nicholas Patullo
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Patullo is a 15-year resident of Hillsborough Township. He has served as Fire Commissioner for the past 3 years and previously held this position for 3 years from 2012-2015. He was a fire fighter since the age of 16, holding the positions of Fire Fighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief and Chief of the Department at the Finderne Fire Department. He was an active member at the Bound Brook Fire Department, Finderne Fire Department and most recently the Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Company #1, Flagtown. He is also a retired police officer, serving in Hillsborough Township, Bound Brook, and Hellertown PA. He was also an EMT for over 50 years.
Richard Von den Steinen
I have been a proud resident of Hillsborough for over 40 years, where I raised our three children through the local school district. My fire service career spans more than four decades with the Hillside Fire Department where I worked my way through the ranks to Deputy Chief. In addition, I have served as a life member of the Hillsborough Rescue Squad since joining in 1986, and I am currently employed as a Fire Official for Bernards Township (Basking Ridge). My deep commitment to public safety continues to guide my work as a candidate for Hillsborough Fire Commissioner.
