2020 FIRE DISTRICT ELECTION INFORMATION

 February 6, 2020

NOTICE is hereby given to the legal voters of the Fire District of the Township of Hillsborough, County of Somerset, in the State of New Jersey, that the Annual Election of the Fire Commissioners will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020. The poll will be open from 2:00PM until 9:00PM prevailing time or longer if necessary, all Districts will vote at the Hillsborough Township Municipal Building.

ONE (1) COMMISSIONER WILL BE ELECTED FOR A FULL THREE (3) YEAR TERM.

AND TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Annual Election of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Fire District of the Township of Hillsborough to be held as herein above set forth, the aforesaid resolution in the form of a question will be submitted to the voters of the District for their approval.

QUESTION #1:

Shall the Hillsborough Board of Fire Commissioners of the Township of Hillsborough, County of Somerset, operate for the year 2020 with a budget of $3,800,004 and an amount to be raised by taxation of $2,785,887?

QUESTION #2:

Shall the Hillsborough Board of Fire Commissioners be authorized to spend not in excess of $350,000 for the purchase of a fire/rescue truck?

QUESTION #3
Shall the Hillsborough Board of Fire Commissioners be authorized to spend not in excess of $65,000 for the purchase of a fire marshal vehicle?

QUESTION #4
Shall the Hillsborough Board of Fire Commissioners be authorized to spend not in excess of $75,000 for the purchase of firefighter personal protective equipment?

QUESTION #5:

Shall the Hillsborough Board of Fire Commissioners be authorized to spend not in excess of $80,000 for the purchase of a command vehicle?

This, however emphasizes how important having detectors are, and not to forget fire alarms. Whether on vacation or in the home.
